Dixie Dude Ranch is only 55 miles northwest of San Antonio.
Taxi services are available at San Antonio International Airport for transfers to the ranch if you opt to not rent a vehicle. We also recommend our local taxi service: Bandera Shuttle. We are happy to help you arrange your transfer or provide you with contact information for additional services. Current rates to/from the airport range from $150.00 – $170.00 per carload one way. At this time there are no public bus routes that go through Bandera. Some guests have utilized Uber/Lyft services to get to us from San Antonio, but you will not likely find Uber/Lyft drivers locally in Bandera for a return transfer.
Route 1 -Most direct way and best usage of major Highways: Exiting the airport, take Hwy. 281 north to Loop 1604. Go west on Loop 1604 until you reach Interstate 10–exit west on IH10 to Boerne. When you reach Boerne, take Hwy 46 west–you’ll exit right and then turn left and go over the freeway. Stay on Hwy 46 until Hwy. 16, then turn right. Take Hwy. 16 to the town of Bandera. At the intersection of Hwy. 173 and Hwy. 16 (at the stop light; Bandera Bank will be in front of you), turn left on 173. Go .5 miles over the Medina River bridge to the first right at Ranch Road 1077. Follow 1077 for 7.5 miles and look for our sign on the right side of the road; turn right onto Dixie Dude Ranch Road and follow it to our headquarters.
Route 2 – If exiting from airport onto 410, go west on 410 to IH10 West and follow directions above to Boerne-exit Hwy 46 west
Route 3 – take Loop 410 west to IH10 west, then take Loop 1604 west to Hwy 16. This will take you through the town of Helotes while staying on Hwy 16 all the way into Bandera.
ONCE IN BANDERA: From Highway 16 North to Bandera, turn left on Highway 173. ( This is your first actual stop light in town- see Bandera Bank in front of you). Go 1/2 mile south over the Medina river and turn right on Ranch Road 1077, the first actual right after the bridge. Drive 7.5 miles; the Ranch entrance is on the right (you’ll see the Dixie Dude Ranch sign). Follow the ranch road until you reach our headquarters.
From Kerrville, take Highway 173 south to Bandera. Turn left at the traffic light at Main Street. You will drive down Main Street through the last traffic light. Continue across the Medina River bridge, then turn right on Ranch Road 1077, just past the Tractor Supply store.
